The sparkling seas and immaculate jungle of Koh Chang’s interior provide lots of opportunities for visitors to enjoy unique tours and daytrips. Secluded coves, lofty waterfalls, rainforest, mangroves, colourful temples, traditional fishing villages, elephant safari camps and a viewpoint at the top of the island’s highest peak are all on guided island tours of one kind or another.
While the trips mostly start with an early morning pick up with a mini-van from hotels and resorts, the trips continue by offering guests the chance of viewing and exploring the island’s environment from the back of an elephant, on foot, from a kayak or from the deck of an ocean-going catamaran.
Island Day Tours of Koh Chang
Several operators on Koh Chang offer all-inclusive day tours which include hotel pickup by mini-bus, a one-hour elephant trek and lunch. The trip usually takes in a visit to the island’s iconic Klong Plu Waterfall, picturesque Kai Bea Beach, Bang Bao fishing village and a rubber plantation.
Evolution Tour: There is a local office on the island which runs day tours that take in an elephant ride at Klong Plu Ban Chang camp, Klong Plu, Klong Prao temple and various other tourism draws. The temple is an interesting stop as saffron-robed monks are keen to hone their language skills.

Salak Kok Kayak Station: In the island’s southeast, this Koh Chang tours firm offers kayak tours and rentals around the mangrove forests in this part of the island. Experienced tour guides explain mangrove conservation measures and have a wealth of knowledge about wildlife here.
Elephant Tours in Koh Chang
Chang Chutiman is one of several operators of elephant trekking tours on Koh Chang. They offer one or two-hour treks through rainforest and fruit orchards. Koh Chang Trekking is based at White Sand Beach and has fully-licensed guides who are extremely knowledgeable of the region and its diverse wildlife. Tour companies in all the medium sized and larger resorts on Koh Chang either run their own boat tours, or can book one for customers, that transport visitors to maritime heaven. The itineraries of the trips vary with operators and also their specific location on the island.
Tourists embarking at west coast resorts including White Sand will spend time viewing the magnificent scenery at say Kai Bea, while those boarding at Salak Phet will typically head south to islands such as Koh Mak and Koh Kut. The vessels moor in pictorial bays and guests can enjoy a swim or a spot of snorkelling in temperate and translucent waters.
